Fosun Pharma Sponsors “A Climbing Race for Public Welfare and Health” on its 20th Anniversary to Raise Funds for Impoverished Children

On 27 December 2014, an event titled “climbing race for public welfare and health”, co-sponsored by Shanghai Fosun Public Welfare Foundation and Fosun Pharma, was held in Fosun Pharma’s headquarters building, where nearly 30 teams of about 100 members, including employees, their family members and media, all participated to witness and celebrate the 20th anniversary of Fosun Pharma’s establishment.

In line with the principle of “enhancing the awareness of fitness, environmental protection and energy saving, and demonstrating team-work spirit”, the event was a climbing race designed to promote public welfare and health. During the event, Fosun Pharma set a public welfare objective for each of the participating team, which would propel Shanghai Fosun Public Welfare Foundation and Fosun Pharma to donate RMB3, 000, as long as the team completes the whole game within a specified time period, to impoverished children for their happy, healthy and decent growth. The total amount of donation was expected to be RMB100, 000. Meanwhile, Fosun Pharma also set a chest to receive donations by any possible compassionate person present at the event.

At around 10:50 a.m., all contestants immediately started the intense and fierce competition on hearing the starting gun fired by Li Haifeng, Vice President of Fosun Group and Vice Chairman of Shanghai Fosun Public Welfare Foundation. It’s a relay race, where the first member of each team started at the starting point and the second and third would then finish the whole game. All teams completed the whole game to the hurray and cheer of the audiences.

Shanghai Fosun Public Welfare Foundation and Fosun Pharma will channel all the donations into charity and public welfare causes. The donations made during the event, along with the raised funds from the “public welfare chest”, will be used to help promote impoverished children’ s healthy and happy growth. The specific range of public welfare projects will be voted by all of the contestants. The event, featuring transparency and openness, aims to enhance the contestants’ involvement in a public welfare event.

Fosun Pharma owns its achievements through 20 years’ development to efforts made by all interested parties. Fosun expects the public welfare event to promote interested parties’ involvement in the public welfare to create a more harmonious industry ecological circle.
